trail update for 2/25/05

we had heavy traffic all week, with kids out of school and seem every body else was. we had one groomer sick, who spends about 30 hours a week grooming, hope your feeling better matt. randy and i pick up the slack and groomed wedsday and thursday night. the trails are in excellent shape. i noticed last night when grooming jerseyfield trail last night, it was groomed across the bull hill trail from ohio end jerseyfield must have gotten 12" of fresh snow this week. also when riding to stratford stay on trail, crossing the case rd. stay on marked trail do not take short cut across land owners driveway, or we will lose it.

February 18

6 to 8" of snow, trails were being groomed today and some tonight. trails are in excellent conditions, still ridable ,but not the greatest due to lack of snow and wind blowing it off is barto hill to the ice house. to get to ice house with a good ride take S81CUT ACROSS TO C4D . one of the best scenic rides there is. also that we have snow a trip to gorge view lanes is also a great ride with the possibilities of seeing wild life (deer & turkey)

February 18

We received 6 - 8 inches of lake effect last night and today. The trails are in very good shape and local members are reporting the best conditions of the year. Some spots still have a few slush hole but they will freeze up tonight. Don't miss a great ride!

Trail Update

I had expected to hear by now from the Trail Boss on the conditions of the trails. Like so many others in the club, he does have other financial obligations to his family that come ahead of volunteer work. The following trail report is based on my observation. It is not hard to guess that the trails are in rough shape in areas, due to the lack of new snow, warm weather and the amount of riders. Snow is expected next week, but this weekend temps are going to very mild so whatever snow we do get, will just be replacing what we had. Poker Run will go on, regardless of the trail conditions. If you can't take your sled, you can use whatever means of transportation you would like. As soon as Ron is able to let me know, or he gets a chance to post it himself, we will update again.

Feb 4

I will be posting a new trail report later today. Seems like the two that were sent have been lost in cyberspace. That happens sometimes. I expect that they will make an appearance in April.
