trail update dec. 23

trails have all been groomed within 48 hours, little traffic were on them last night as I was grooming to Stratford , c4a good shape few rocks still showing thru. c4 to Norway good few rocks and some water holes, but good. c4 to jersey field rd. some parts excellent then for a mile or so rocks and water holes then good.in a week or two the bridge in Dolgeville will be completely done, we will be changing to the new one, but be careful at all times because  on to the trail are trucks coming in and out from Spencer str.volunteers are needed to put railings up and boards down on the decking to be completed, ask at the club if interested in helping. it's always nice to see new faces helping out on the trail. please give the groomer the right away, some people just don't get it, they drive right up to the groomer, then sit there wanting you to go by, you see the groomer get off the trail as soon as possible or more accessible site and get completely off the trail, it's easier to get you unstuck then the groomer. thanks Ron , your trail boss and we do appreciate the help and the compliments we get on our trails

Trail News

The consensus at the trail grooming meeting is to open the trails next Friday, December 16th, if the snow we have now sticks around. The groomers have a few more signs to put in place and general maintenance to be finished on some sections. Please ride with caution, even though the trails will be opening, the snow is not sufficient to provide adequate cover for some areas. Once the groomers get out and additional snow arrives, we will have the trail base we need to insure a smooth ride.

Monday December 5

We received about 12 inches of snow in the last few days. The Northern Zone is closed for regular hunting but it is up to Ridgeruners and the groomers as to when the trails will be officially open. Many trails pass over sensitive areas and need adequate snow cover before they can be opened for the season. Please remember this when you find a closed gate, or other signs that are posted on trail status. Our landowners are relying on us to keep the promises we make when they allow us to ride through their property. Abuse it, lose it!
